I am a mobile worker. I am filed software consultant. My office is my back pack. Where ever i put my bag is my office.
My best tip for "home" office is sticking to gadgets/tools/accessories diet. Gerrald M.Weinberg wrote in his book Secrets of Consulting: A Guide to Giving and Getting Advice Successfully - "The better adapted you are, the less adaptable you tend to be...".
What’s your favorite home office productivity or organizing tip?
Put all your action items in your outlook tasks. This keeps them all in one place and you can organize by topic and themes. For example people are always mentioning good book I need to read, I love reading so I have a tab for books I would like to read all in one convenient easy to find(5 seconds or less) spot. Oh and don't for get to do regular backups!
Do you work in a mobile office? How do you do it?
I work from home and with my blackberry and a paper daytimer when I am on the road to keep me organized(yes I still use paper, I am very tactile-visual and have dated a few palm pilots :) but broke up and moved back to my trusty paper system.)
Do you work only part-time from home? What’s your best advice?
I work full time as an organizing consultant; working on-on-one with entrepreneurs, speaking and creating awesome home organizing videos.

My best advice is to find what works for you, then tweak it to make it system dependant not people dependant. meaning in practical terms...you can do it easily and without thinking.

I write small bits of info on post-its. I put all the post-its inside the front cover of my spiral notebook (for messages and other notes) and when the book is full, I log all the notes (and any messages) into appropriate lists such as passwords, ideas, follow up, phone number, etc.

It would be more organizer-like if I did it immediately, but I'm a marathoner, not a sprinter. I do a lot for a long time instead of a little every day.
