Here’s three ways people use to try and get organized:

1. Working with a well meaning friend or family member. They are organized, why can’t you be? The problem is they are not you. This hardly ever works long term.

2. Buying products first. When you’re organizing your entire home office, products are part of the answer, not the whole answer. An envelope is only as good as what is in it, otherwise it’s trash or clutter. This strategy can make things worse.

3. Trial and error. You know the drill: read a magazine and recreate it in your home office. Go to the store and clear out their organization section. You then bring it back home, aren’t sure what to do with it, or start shoving stuff in. This might work for 1-3 weeks, and you’re right back where you started. Then you have all this great product that is doing you no good, and you revert to your old habits. This strategy can get expensive, not to mention double your frustration. Yikes!

So, what’s the alternative? You don’t have money to burn, but you know it’s time to bring in help. You’re ready to make it happen and you’re ready now.
