Thinking of selling your home? If you are, consider embarking on an organizing project. Even if you decide not to sell, you will be amazed at the change! Here’s some ways to get started:

1. Practice keeping your counters clear: potential buyers want to see that you have space galore. Clutter implies that there is little storage space. Take 5 minutes in the morning, and five minutes in the evening and clear off your counters. For some other helpful tips, visit the Flylady.

2. The less you have, the less you have to pack and unpack: Time to pare down what you really want to pack. Living in a home even a few years will result in some amount of “stuff” accumulation. Go through each room a little at a time - or even a drawer at a time! If you haven’t used it in the two years, or you don’t love it, it’s time to pass it onto someone who will. Consider it your part of “paying it forward“.

3. Focus on the storage areas: such as the kitchen pantry, closets and bathroom storage. Clean out what isn’t being used or has expired. You may be surprised at what you find! Here is a great article on storage.

A few weeks from now, your home can look drastically different. Not only that, but you will feel better. Let me know how your project goes, I would love to hear about it!
