I’ve made the switch to using Google Apps as my email client. I’ve been pretty happy, I must admit. It’s nice to have access anywhere and not have to deal with nursing my other application. However, I was making one mistake that dawned on me the other day.

Hello world!
Organizing and creating functional spaces is a personal passion. I am not a naturally organized (read: uncluttered) person, and had to learn and discover why it is beneficial to have order in one's life! However, to be real, my four year old, family and the nagging realization that I need to have a life makes sure that my space does not look like the cover of Pottery Barn or The Container Store. Come on, we are all real people with busy lives!
I had a realization around the time that my son was born that I could no longer tolerate the piles of unused items, paper and clutter. Something had to be done! Like any permanent change it took work - LOTS of it in my case, and several years to learn systems and grow personally until I felt good about my space. Starting with one room, I worked my way around my home sorting things into "Keep/Put Away", "Toss" and "Donate" boxes. Anyone can do that! It takes some courage to get rid of things layer by layer, but it is completely doable!
I encourage you to take a step into reclaiming your space, and your life!
